Harvest 40% of dates in Bastak city
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Bastak city announced the continuation of harvesting rotab from the groves of this city and said: 40% of rotab harvesting of Bastak groves has been harvested.
Abbas Moayedi said: the area under date palm cultivation in Bastak city is 1820 hectares, which is expected to produce 4900 tons of dates this year.
He mentioned the reasons for the increase in production yield compared to last year as factors such as the fertilization of last year’s seedlings, the removal of worn-out palms and their replacement with young palms, the correct fight against date palm pests.
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Bastak city added: in addition to the consumption of the city, the produced dates are exported to neighboring cities and Fars province and the countries of the Persian Gulf.
Moayedi continued: Every year, 1,500 tons of this product is harvested from Khark and Rutb from these groves and sent to the market, where 40% of the harvest has been done so far.
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi Bastak said: Rutab has been harvested from early cultivars such as Bishi and Khunizi and late cultivars such as Khasubi are being harvested.
He pointed out that the best production cultivars of this special city are Khunizi and Barmi: Rotab harvest in this city starts from the middle of July and late cultivars such as Khasab and Hilali continue until February.
