Mohammad Hossein Kurdistani, director of Jihad Keshavarzi in Jiroft, added: Harvesting of Mardarsang, Halilah and some Mazafati cultivars will continue until October.
He said: Meanwhile, the area under date palm cultivation in Jiroft is more than 70,000 hectares and currently one of the most important problems for farmers in this sector is the dryness of date clusters, which has significant damage to crop yield, especially Mazafati cultivar, and falling purchase prices from It is the farmer who, according to the production costs of the product, does not meet the costs of the announced guaranteed purchase price of the farmers, and the officials pay more and more attention to the guaranteed purchase price of the product demanded by public and private date producers.
Kurdistani pointed out: On the other hand, the presence of shipments of dates in the city’s cold stores since last year is also one of the reasons for the drop in the price of this product.
