Picking Damask rose buds should be when the bud is ripe and about to open. After picking, the petals are peeled off and dried in the shade, then stored in a closed jar.

Dried Damask rose petals heal wounds. Rose lowers fever. Sprinkling its dried petals on the wound disinfects and heals it. Its poultice has been recommended for the treatment of warts and skin blemishes, the growth of fresh flesh and the analysis of tumors.

The area under cultivation of Damask rose in the province in 1399 was 18 hectares, of which 503 tons of Damask rose were harvested from farms, and it is expected that 510 tons of Damask rose will be harvested from the gardens of the province this year.

Last year, 318 hectares of Damask rose lands were harvested in the province, which is an increase of 58 hectares compared to 2009. Harvesting of Damask rose has started from April 10 in warmer areas and will continue until mid-May.
Among the gardens of South Khorasan, there is an endowment 5 km east of Birjand, next to the Birjand-Zahedan road, in the village of Shaukatabad, part of which is called Damask rose in the name of Fadak. Proceeds from the sale of these flowers are spent on endowment topics, including the development of Quranic activities.

It is estimated that about 2.5 tons of Damask rose will be harvested from these fields, the proceeds of which will be spent on matters related to the intentions of the Waqf.

Harvest of Damask rose continues until the end of May in South Khorasan. Damask rose is one of the most resistant plants to environmental stresses due to the conditions of the province, and for this reason, South Khorasan has an extraordinary capacity in producing Damask rose.

The endowment of Shaukatabad garden and mansion is 8.5 hectares. At present, there are six endowments of Shaukat Abad farm and aqueduct and this endowment has two endowment letters named Mohammad Ibrahim and Amir Ismail Shaukat Al-Molk.

This endowment has 37 intentions. Shaukatabad garden and mansion belongs to the Qajar period and belongs to Amir Ismail Khan Shaukat al-Mulk, one of the projects that can be used in it is the cultivation of plants such as Damask rose.
