Aziz Bagheri stated: Due to the conditions and climate of this Nehbandan, many people in this city are dependent on the agricultural sector and make a living this way.

The official continued: The agricultural sector in this region is considered as an important sector and the axis of development and progress.

The director of Nehbandan Agricultural Jihad stated that providing and strengthening the infrastructure of the agricultural sector in this city will lead to the prosperity of agriculture and production.

Bagheri added: in order to develop and increase the production of agricultural products, special attention should be paid to the agricultural sector, and on the other hand, exploiters and farmers should eliminate traditional and expensive methods by using new methods of agriculture and animal husbandry.

He reminded: wheat, barley, cotton, sorghum, jaliz, corn, saffron, olives, pomegranate, pistachios, grapes and dates are the most important agricultural products and farmers of this city.

The director of Nehbandan Agricultural Jihad announced the harvest of dates in this city and said: 315 hectares of agricultural lands of this city in the villages of Dehsalam, Chahdashi and Bandan are under palm cultivation.

Bagheri specified: 240 hectares of this area under date palm cultivation in Nehbandan city are fertile.

The official clarified: This year, about 580 tons of date crops will be harvested from the fertile groves of this city, which is an increase of five percent compared to last year.

The director of Nehbandan Agricultural Jihad said that the most important local cultivars produced in this city are Khoreh Khosh and Perko dates and the improved cultivars are Zahedi and Kabkab dates.

Bagheri estimated the number of farmers in Nehbandan at 130 households and emphasized the development of intercropping with the aim of providing fodder for palm growers.
