Harvesting 110,000 tons of grapes from Meymand and Firoozabad vineyards
Iraj Dehghani, director of Firoozabad Agricultural Jihad, stated that Firoozabad city has a total of more than 4,250 hectares of vineyards. It is hoped that the grape harvest from the vineyards of Firoozabad city and Meymand district will increase compared to the previous year.
He stated: Firoozabad city and Meymand district in Fars province is considered as one of the important centers of grape production so that on average more than 76,000 tons of grapes are harvested annually from Meymand vineyards alone.
Director of Firoozabad Agricultural Jihad, stating that it is expected to produce more than 110,000 tons of grapes this year from the vineyards of Firoozabad city and Meymand district, continued: Rish Baba, Yaghooti, Samarkandi, Mehreh and Sefidlerkash are produced in the vineyards of this city.
Dehghani stated: The products produced in Firoozabad and Meymand vineyards, in addition to different cities in Fars, are exported to Tehran, Isfahan, Chaharmahal Bakhtiari, as well as customers from other countries such as Turkey in suitable packages.
