Harvesting 1419 tons of walnuts from Khuzestan orchards

Horticulture director of Khuzestan Agricultural Jihad Organization said: walnut harvest from 577 hectares of orchards in Khuzestan province will begin in late October.
Halim Kouti stated that the average yield of walnuts in the province is 3.9 tons per hectare and stated: It is predicted that 1419 tons of walnuts will be harvested from the orchards of the province and offered to the market this year.
He mentioned the cities of Izeh, Baghmalek and Indika as the main walnut cultivation areas in the province and added: part of the walnuts produced will be exported to other provinces.
Kuti mentioned the walnut cultivar cultivated in the mentioned cities as local and said: Last year, 1305 tons of walnuts were produced in Khuzestan.
