Harvesting 148,000 tons of dates from Hormozgan date palms

Hormozgan Jihad Agricultural Organization Deputy for Plant Production Improvement said: So far, more than 22,000 tons of dates have been harvested from the province’s palm trees, which is 15% of the production from the province’s palm groves.

Seyed Saeed Modarres stated: Last year, 128 thousand tons of dates were harvested in the province and it is predicted that 148 thousand tons will be harvested this year.

He pointed out: the area under date cultivation in the province is 37,000 hectares. Harvesting of various dates such as Almehtari, Pyaram, Mazafati, Mardasang, Barhi, Kriteh and Khunizi continues from June to the end of November.

The deputy of Jihad Agricultural Organization of the province stated: Hormozgan dates are exported to the countries of the Persian Gulf and Central Asia, and in this regard, we have had an increase in yield compared to last year.

Modarres reminded: Hormozgan has reached the fifth rank in the country in harvesting dates from groves.
