Harvesting 15,000 tons of figs in Estahban

The governor of Estahban said: due to the appropriate rainfall in the second six months of last year, this year more than 15,000 tons of figs were harvested from 23,000 hectares of orchards in the city of Estahban.

Nematullah Akbarinejad stated: Estahban figs are also exported to other countries of the world, and in this regard, about three thousand tons of harvested products were exported to other parts of the world this year.

He added: The region that has the largest rain-fed figs in the country needs the attention of provincial and national officials to be more successful in supplying this product, but so far this issue has not been addressed as it should be.

The governor of Estahban, referring to the necessity of forming a union of fig growers in this region, said: creating storage conditions, organizing the sale and purchase of figs, creating a platform for private sector investment are among the benefits of forming this union, which will ultimately improve the situation of figs in this city.

Akbarinejad reminded: in order to make the national and provincial officials more familiar with the problems of gardeners in Venice and to introduce more fig products in the country, this year for the first time the National Fig Festival was held in Estahban city.

He added: At the Estahban fig festival, the officials became closely acquainted with the problems of the gardeners and promised to solve these problems, and we hope to see them operational in the near future.
