Harvesting 16000 tons of walnuts in Baft city
Between 12,000 and 16,000 tons of walnuts are harvested annually in Baft city, the amount of change in which depends on weather conditions, frost, pests, fertilization and nutrition.
Nasser Agharzaei, head of Baft Agricultural Jihad, added: Walnut cultivation in Baft dates back to very long times, and in a way, this product has been mixed with the lives of the people of this city.
He further said: Agricultural Jihad of this city has held two festivals of this product in Baft and Rabar to introduce walnuts to Iranians.
The head of Jihad Keshavarzi Baft introduced the payment of facilities to gardeners for cultivating this crop in the form of rehabilitation and improvement projects, quick yield, fighting drought, moth and frost among other measures related to this strategic crop.
Aghar Rezaei announced the establishment of a walnut research institute in the best area of the city in the Rabar section as a change in improving walnut solutions and continued that according to experts, this institute will be operational in the next few years.
