Harvesting 16000 tons of walnuts in Shahr-e Babak

The director of Jihad-e-Agriculture of Shahr-e-Babak city said: there are 18,000 hectares of pistachio orchards in this city, of which 12,000 hectares are fertile and 6,000 hectares are infertile.
Mangali announced that the amount of pistachio harvested from the orchards of this city is 9,500 tons this year, which unfortunately has decreased compared to the previous crop year due to natural coercive factors such as lack of fertilization due to spring rains and sunburn.
Also, 16 thousand and 500 tons of walnuts have been produced in Baft city this year.
Engineer Rahmatollah Rezazadeh, head of the agricultural jihad management in Baft city, said: In the current year, 16 thousand and 500 tons of walnuts will be produced in 7500 hectares of fertile cultivated area of this city and will be offered to the consumer market.
He announced the area of walnut orchards in this city as 10,200 hectares, of which 2700 hectares are seedlings and the rest are fertile.
Baft city is the second largest producer of walnuts in the country and the walnut produced in this region is organic, which is one of the advantages of walnuts in Kerman province compared to the products of other regions.
