Harvesting 1740 tons of pistachios from the gardens of Isfahan province
Pistachio horticulture expert of Isfahan Jihad-e-Agriculture Organization said: 1740 tons of pistachios were harvested from the orchards of Isfahan province, the fourth largest producer of pistachios in the country.
Mohammad Mehdi Haddad announced the area under cultivation of pistachio orchards in this province as 4833 hectares and said: This year, frost and untimely rainfall, which caused problems with pollination, reduced the harvest of this crop by 55% compared to last year.
He pointed out that the highest amount of pistachios in Isfahan province is harvested in Aran and Bidgol, Ardestan, Nain and Kashan cities, respectively, adding: Koleghoochi, Ahmad Aghaei, Ouhadi, Akbari and Hazelnut are the most important pistachio cultivars produced in this province.
He said: In order to study healthy and aflatoxin-free pistachios, 80 experiments were performed this year in four stages of harvest, after harvest, before processing and after drying of pistachios harvested in this province, the results of which have not yet been announced.
September and October are the months of pistachio harvest season in Isfahan province.
