Harvesting 1860 tons of sesame from irrigated dry lands of Khorasan Razavi

The director of agriculture affairs of Khorasan Razavi Agricultural Jihad Organization announced the area under sesame cultivation as 6700 hectares this year and added: this area is 1000 hectares of irrigated fields and 5700 hectares are rainfed areas.

Quoting the public relations of the Jihad Agricultural Organization of Khorasan Razavi Province, Engineer Saboor stated: The sesame harvest from the agricultural lands of the province is equal to 1860 tons and this amount has been sent to the consumer markets (confectioneries and lubrication).

The director of agriculture of the province called sesame oil very high quality and added: sesame seeds have 50 to 55% of sesame and among the oilseeds, it has the highest quality in cooking and can play an effective role in family health.

Saboor considered the production of sesame as economically justified and continued: Due to the fact that sesame cultivation is mainly done in the dry season, so the amount of harvest per unit area is different in different years.
