Harvesting 2480 tons of walnuts in North Khorasan

The horticultural director of the North Khorasan Agricultural Jihad Organization announced the end of the walnut harvest in this province.
Haidar Namvar said: This year, 2,480 tons of walnuts were harvested from the orchards of the province.
He added: 2,370 hectares of the province’s orchards are allocated to walnut orchards, of which 1,860 hectares are fertile and the rest are infertile.
He also noted: walnut production this year has increased by 30% compared to last year.
Engineer Namvar said: Last year, 836 tons of walnuts were harvested from 2210 hectares of orchards in the province. He mentioned the average harvest of walnuts this year at 1300 kg per hectare.
He said: the highest amount of walnut production is allocated to Farooj and Shirvan cities.
