Harvesting 2800 tons of barberry from Sarbisheh orchards
The director of Sarbisheh Agricultural Jihad said: it is predicted that about 2800 tons of barberry will be harvested from Sarbisheh orchards this year.
Seyed Hassan Razavi stated: It is predicted that 850 tons of almonds, 1530 tons of jujube, 703 tons of pistachios and 2.3 tons of saffron will be harvested from Sarbisheh orchards this year.
He added: The main agricultural products of Sarbisheh city in the garden area are barley, barberry, almond, jujube, pistachio and saffron, respectively.
Regarding the area under cultivation of the city’s crops, the director of Sarbisheh Agricultural Jihad noted: The highest area under cultivation in this city is the barberry crop, which includes 2152 hectares, including 1851 hectares fertile and 301 hectares infertile.
Razavi continued: The area under almond cultivation is 1380 hectares including 1292 hectares fertile and 88 hectares infertile and the area under jujube cultivation in Sarbisheh city is 1052 hectares including 875 hectares fertile and 177 hectares infertile.
He added: Also, 1012 hectares of Sarbisheh orchards are under pistachio cultivation, which includes 563 fertile and 449 hectares of infertile.
The director of Sarbisheh Agricultural Jihad stated: The area under saffron cultivation was 667 hectares, which includes 602 hectares fertile and 65 hectares infertile.
Razavi, stating that 50% of the products of this city are sent outside the province, said: The most important problems of production in Sarbisheh city is the lack of conversion industries and processing of agricultural products and drought and limited water resources in the city.
He continued: Sarbisheh Agricultural Jihad provides long-term facilities in the field of mechanization and purchase of equipment related to farmers.
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi Sarbisheh reminded: Also, providing working capital needed by farmers and providing free facilities for the implementation of new irrigation systems are among the other facilities that are provided to the farmers of this city.
