Ali Sayadi continued: 735 hectares of the city’s orchards are almond orchards, of which 175 hectares are irrigated orchards and 560 hectares are rain-fed orchards, 510 hectares are fertile orchards and 225 hectares are infertile orchards.

He said: ‌ The average harvest of almonds per hectare from rainfed orchards is on average 500 to 800 kg and in irrigated orchards is 1.5 tons and in total it is predicted this year due to continuous rains and lack of inoculation and late spring cold and … About 350 tons of almonds should be harvested from the gardens of Marand city.

He pointed to the job creation of the almond harvest season and added: the number of farmers working in almond orchards is 650 families in the city.

Sayadi said: The highest area of ??almond orchards in Bonab city and the villages of Dolatabad, Abarghan, Zarghan is one of the functions of the central part and the villages of Yakan Kahriz, Yakan Olya and Rome Qoysi of Yamchi district. Is dead.

He continued: Almond crop can be cultivated in both rainfed and irrigated forms. Rainfed almond cultivars in the city mostly include local cultivars and late flowering and cultivated cultivars such as Azar, Sahand, Shokoofeh, Yalda, Nun Paril and Francis and … Is.

According to the public relations of the East Azerbaijan Agricultural Jihad Organization, the work of harvesting almonds in the city of Marand began in the first decade of September and continues until early October.
