Harvesting 35,000 tons of quality green tea leaves from northern gardens
Habib Jahansaz added: The value of the price of green leaves harvested by tea growers is 114 billion tomans, of which 29 billion tomans have been transferred to the tea growers’ account from the share of tea factories.
He pointed out: more than 90% of the green leaves harvested are of the first grade spring type, which is a 34% increase compared to the first grade tea in the same period last year.
Jahansaz, pointing out that a good year of operation is predicted for tea, said: In general, due to the payment of facilities for agricultural operations and mechanization of tea gardens and the introduction of new devices, climatic conditions and suitable rainfall, more green leaves and It has been harvested and delivered by tea growers with better quality, especially in the spring type, and there is more desire among farmers to attend gardens and harvest tea.
He added: There is good competition between tea factories to buy green tea leaves above the guaranteed rate for the first time this year, which will make tea gardens more revitalized and prosperous this year.
Jahansaz pointed out: about four thousand hectares of tea gardens have been rehabilitated in the last few years and one thousand hectares last year, and there are four to five thousand hectares of tea gardens that need to be rehabilitated.
In the current crop season, the guaranteed purchase price per kilogram of first grade green tea leaves is set at 32,750 Rials and second grade green leaves at 18,492 Rials, which have increased by 20% and 21%, respectively, compared to the previous year.
Green tea leaves are harvested every year in three spring, summer and autumn harvests. Spring harvest is done from early May, summer from the second half of June and autumn harvest in September and October.
