Harvesting 370 tons of figs from the surface of Tarom gardens
Alireza Amari stated: The area under cultivation of fig orchards this year in Tarom city will reach 125 hectares.
He stated that Tarmi gardeners are currently harvesting figs from their orchards, adding: Fig harvesting from Tarom orchards has started in early August this year and will continue until the end of September.
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Tarom city, referring to the harvest of figs in this city, noted: It is predicted that 370 tons of figs will be harvested and sent to the market from the total area under fig cultivation in Tarom this year.
The official said that the fig orchards in Tarom city have suffered heat damage this year due to high temperatures, adding that this has led to a decline in crop yields.
Amari said: the fig product produced in Tarom city is mostly consumed fresh and a small amount is traditionally dried and consumed.
Referring to the number of users of figs in Tarom city, he said: The number of users of this product in Tarom this year will reach more than 550 families and the harvest will include 2,500 people a day.
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Tarom city pointed out: Every year, a good income from the fig harvest is earned by Tarom users, so it is predicted that the income from the fig harvest in this year will reach about 24 billion Rials.
The official referred to the cultivars of figs produced in Tarom city and stated: White cultivars, black cultivars, narratives, yellow cloves and local Tarom are among the fig cultivars cultivated in this city.
Amari stated: The fig product produced in Tarom city has a good quality and this year, as in previous years, in addition to consumption in Zanjan province, it will be exported to other neighboring provinces.
