The director of horticulture of Jihad Keshavarzi of Hormozgan province said: since the beginning of harvest, 4,000 tons of Pyaram dates have been harvested from Hajiabad groves.
Hosseini, stating that Pyaram dates are the best dates in the world and is known abroad as chocolate dates, added: The harvest of Pyaram dates begins in mid-October and continues until mid-November.
He predicted: 7,000 tons of Pyaram dates will be harvested from 15,000 hectares of groves this year, which is unchanged compared to last year.
The director of horticulture of Jihad Keshavarzi of Hormozgan province considered Daragah, Tang Deoyeh, Tazarj, Madanavieh, Ganj and Baraftab villages as the most important production areas of Pyarom in Hajiabad city and said: Most of Piaram groves are in Daragah and Tarom villages and around Hajiabad city.
Hosseini stated: The price of each kilo of Pyaram in Hajiabad is 5,500 Tomans and in the world markets it is $ 10, and in case of breeding (removing the core and filling it with pistachio and almond kernels) it is $ 18.
He added: Last year, 7,000 tons of Pyaram dates were harvested from Hajiabad city, of which 3,000 tons worth $ 4 million were exported to Central Asian countries, Europe, China and India.
The head of the Hormozgan Date Association also said in this regard: 50 types of dates are produced in Hormozgan, 10 of which are for export. Pourheidari stated that after the end of the harvest, the export of Pyaram will start from Hormozgan province, and specified: Hormozgan with the harvest of 143 thousand tons of dates from 38 thousand hectares is the fourth place of production and the third place of date cultivation in the country.
He said: One million tons of dates are harvested annually in the country from 224 thousand hectares of groves and one hundred and 4 thousand tons of it are exported worth 139 million dollars.
