Harvesting 5000 tons of walnuts from Boroujerd gardens
The director of Boroujerd Jihad-e-Agriculture announced the harvest of 5,000 tons of walnuts from the city’s orchards.
Ezatullah Nabati stated: The total cultivated area of walnut orchards in Boroujerd is 2632 hectares.
He specified: out of this amount, 2053 hectares are fertile walnut orchards, which this year, with the forecast of yield of two and a half tons of dry crop per hectare, it is predicted that more than 5,000 tons of orchards in the city will be harvested in 1399.
The director of Boroujerd Jihad-e-Keshavarzi pointed out: the walnut harvest has started from the second decade of September and it is predicted that its harvest will continue until the first decade of October.
Nabati added: Boroujerd walnut product is sold in local markets of the city and other parts of the province and neighboring provinces such as Hamedan and Isfahan.
