Harvesting 63 tons of sesame from Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad farms
Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, director of agricultural affairs of Jihad Keshavarzi, said: It is predicted that 63 tons of sesame will be harvested from the cultivation farms of this plant.
Ali Malekzadeh added: 70 hectares of lands in this province have been allocated for sesame cultivation, and it is predicted that 900 kilograms of sesame will be harvested from each hectare of these lands.
He stated that the production of sesame in the province in the current crop year will increase by 10% compared to the same period last year, he said: Last year, 52 tons of sesame was harvested from the fields of this plant.
Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad, director of agricultural affairs of Jihad Keshavarzi, continued by pointing out that the time of harvesting sesame oil is late October: Gachsaran and Basht cities produce the most sesame needed in the province.
Malekzadeh pointed out: Most of the sesame produced is consumed in the province itself and part of this oil plant is exported to Khuzestan and Fars provinces.
He explained: The main consumption of sesame is used for baking sweets, bread and oil desperation.
