Harvesting 70 kg of saffron in Bam
Maqool, director of Bam Jihad-e-Agriculture, said: Saffron cultivation has been welcomed by farmers due to low water needs in cold areas of Bam city.
Maqoul added: It is expected that 70 kg of high quality saffron will be harvested from 17 hectares of saffron cultivated lands in Bam this year, which is an increase of 15% compared to last year.
The director of Bam Agricultural Jihad stated: 70 million Tomans per hectare has been considered for saffron farmers, and also the necessary coordination has been done with the Horticulture Department of Kerman Agricultural Jihad to prepare saffron onions.
Harvesting saffron from saffron farms in Bam city continues until mid-December.
