Harvesting 8000 tons of walnuts in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari

Horticulture director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province said: 8652 tons of walnuts are expected to be harvested this year.

Seyed Taher Nourbakhsh, referring to the beginning of walnut harvest in the province, said: The area under walnut orchards in the province is 8371 hectares, of which 5974 hectares are fertile and 2397 hectares are infertile.

He pointed out that an average of 1448 walnuts are harvested per hectare, he said: 8652 tons of walnuts are expected to be harvested this year.

Horticulture director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province pointed out: 60% of the province’s walnut products are exported to neighboring provinces and countries in the Persian Gulf.

Noorbakhsh, stating that the amount of walnut harvest has increased by eight percent compared to last year, added: walnut harvest in the province will continue until October 6.

According to him, the highest area of ​​walnut orchards is in Kiar city.
