Harvesting dates in 44,000 hectares of land in Sistan and Baluchestan

The director of horticulture of Sistan and Baluchestan Agricultural Jihad Organization said: the date harvest from the groves of the province will start at the end of July this year and will continue until the end of September.
Ardeshir Shahraki stated that the area under groves in the province is 44,200 hectares, of which 34,800 hectares are fertile and 9,387 hectares are infertile.
The director of horticulture of the Sistan and Baluchestan Agricultural Jihad Organization predicted that by the end, more than 70,000 tons of dates would be produced and sent to the consumer market.
Shahraki stated that Sistan and Baluchestan province ranks first in the country in terms of the area under date cultivation, adding: Currently, there are 16 cold storage units, 13 packaging units and 2 date processing units in the province.
Sistan and Baluchestan province has 70 dates.
