Harvesting figs from the foothills of Anbarabad

Behzad Ahmad Yousefi stated: The harvest of figs from the foothill gardens of this region has started today and will continue for a month.

He stated that the average yield of figs per hectare of orchard is more than seven tons, he said: It is expected that more than 140 tons of figs will be harvested from Anbarabad orchards and sent to the market.
Ahmadi Yousefi stated: Considering that no pesticides or chemical fertilizers are used to produce this product in the foothills, the figs in these areas are organic and very tasty.

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Anbarabad city said: the area under fig cultivation in the foothills of Jabalbarz and Amjaz villages is more than 20 hectares.

He added: Due to the fact that the water situation in the foothills of Anbarabad is very critical, the best product to replace citrus trees is figs, which need less water.

Ahmadi Yousefi said: This year, in addition to figs, the management of Anbarabad agricultural jihad will provide farmers with other trees such as grapes and pomegranates that need less water to replace other trees, and it is also economically beneficial for the region’s farmers.
