Harvesting more than 18,000 tons of dates from Shadegan palms
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi office of Shadegan city said: So far, more than 18 thousand tons of date products have been harvested from the palm trees of this city.
Hamid Matroudi stated: The harvesting operation continues and will last until mid-October.
He added: Last year, 62,000 tons of dates were harvested from the city, but this year, our forecast is to harvest 55,000 tons of crops.
Matroudi added: Currently, most of the harvested products are purchased by packaging workshops, and farmers are more willing to deliver their products to these workshops.
He said: Farmers are not willing to deliver dates to rural cooperative centers.
Matroudi said: the level of fertile date palm lands in Shadegan city will reach 13,000 hectares this year.
