Harvesting more than 5 tons of Damask rose in Mirjavah, Sistan and Baluchestan
Director of Mirjaveh Sistan and Baluchestan Agricultural Jihad said: it is expected that more than 5 tons of Damask rose will be harvested from the parks of Mirjaveh border city this year
Isa Kahrazehi added: Damask rose gardens in the border city of Mirjavah have doubled.
He said that the cultivation of Damask rose has flourished among Mirjaveh farmers for the past three years, adding that now four hectares are under cultivation of this crop, which is twice as much as last year.
He welcomed the farmers for cultivating Damask rose and expressed the need for low water and profitability of this product and added: 1200 kg of fresh flowers are harvested from each hectare of Damask rose, from which more than one thousand liters of roses are obtained.
He pointed out that rose picking is traditionally done in Mirjaveh, and said: each liter of rose water in this area is sold at a price of 40,000 Tomans.
The director of Mirjaveh Agricultural Jihad, stating that this crop is being harvested from the farms of Siah Jangal Mirjaveh village, said: Damask rose harvest in this city will start on April 1 and will continue until the end of May.
