The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Sarbaz city of Sistan and Baluchestan announced the area under date cultivation of Sarbaz city as 2830 hectares and predicted that by the end of the harvest season, more than 9100 tons of dates will be harvested and sent to the market.

Ismail Rangbast added: Since the beginning of the date harvest, about 3% of 2300 hectares of dates have been harvested from the fertile groves of this city.

He specified: The highest area under cultivation of horticultural products in Sarbaz city is palm orchards, whose products are of very good quality.

He stated: Due to the monsoon rains before harvest, some damage was done to the city’s date crop.

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi Sarbaz added: Currently, the capacity of the city’s cold storages is 3635 tons, which can be completed by increasing the capacity of cold storages and proper packaging, branding and processing dates of this product.
