The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Khash city said: the work of harvesting cumin from 22 hectares of lands of Khash city started

Toghi added: This product was made in the second half of December 2012 and its harvest began in the second half of May this year, the yield is between 800 to 1000 kg of cumin product.

He predicted that a total of 18,000 kilograms of crop would be harvested from the surface of these farms and offered to the consumer market of Khash city and other cities of the province for 10,000 tomans per kilogram.

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Khash city, stating that this plant is resistant to cold, drought and salinity and has many nutritional, medicinal, health and cosmetic values, said: Cumin is a flowering plant and belongs to the umbrella or parsley family.

He added: This product is based on two types of green and black cumin or Kermani, which is cultivated in the border section and the Rutak region in the city of Khash.

Due to the fact that this plant needs little water, its cultivation is expanding, and this year it has increased by 10% compared to last year, and now it has created jobs for 66 people, Toghi said.
