Harvesting of damask rose from 63 hectares of farms in Harsin city
The director of Hersin Agricultural Jihad announced the beginning of harvesting damask rose on 63 hectares of farms in the city.
Engineer Alireza Yaripour informed about 63 hectares of flower gardens in the city and stated: The average yield of damask rose is 2.5 tons per hectare and about 160 tons of flowers are produced annually and 2 liters of roses are obtained from each kilogram of flowers. That is, an average of 320,000 liters of roses are produced in the city.
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Harsin city added: Also, 20 kg of flower essential oil is produced annually, which is used in perfume industries.
He pointed out: The economic value of each kilogram of essential oil is over 40 million tomans, which is mostly exported abroad.
Yaripour further stated: Other damask rose products can be used to produce fireplace bricks (which are burned fragrantly in the fireplace). He mentioned flower syrup, flower jam and dried flowers for drinking.
