Harvesting of dates began in Minab and Bandar Abbas

Date harvesting began in Bandar Abbas and Minab.
Majid Pakari, a horticultural expert in the management of Jihad Keshavarzi in Minab city, said that the date harvest in the groves of the central part of the city has started in the second half of June, adding: In Hormozgan province.
Pakari said: The most date cultivars in the region include Mardasang, Zark and Mazafati with a yield of 5.4 tons per hectare and an annual production of about 50,000 tons.
He reminded: The date harvest in this city continues until the second half of October.
Abdul Amir, in front of the agriculture expert of Bandar Abbas Agricultural Jihad Management, said: Bandar Abbas city has 5,482 hectares of irrigated date palms and 2,293 hectares of rainfed areas.
Jalvi added: Khnizi, Khasavi, Mardasang, Kartieh and Borji cultivars are the most cultivated cultivars.
He added that the time of pollination of date palms in the city starts from the beginning of March and its harvest starts from the end of June: The average rate of irrigation of date palms is five tons per hectare and rainfed palms are two tons per hectare.
