The first date harvest in Hormozgan started from the groves of Minab city.

Mehdi Abbaspour, the director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Minab city, announced this news: the harvest of early date cultivars, including Almehtari cultivar from Minab date palms, has started.

He stated that Minab city has the first rank in date production in Hormozgan, adding: the area under date palm cultivation in the city is 12 thousand 195 hectares and with a yield of four tons per hectare, it is predicted that 45 thousand 140 tons of date crops will be harvested.

The director of Minab Jihad-e-Agriculture considered the important points of date production in this city as the central part, Tokhoor, Hashtbandi, Gorband, Karian and Telang regions and said: the advantages of date production in this city include fresh eating and processing dates to produce date juice, date vinegar and A variety of by-products.
