Harvesting onions from Helmand lands in 150 hectares

The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Helmand city said: the onions harvesting work started from the agricultural lands of this city.

Announcing this news, Rostami added: 150,000 hectares of lands in this city have been allocated for onions planting.

Rostami said: it is predicted that 7500 tons of onions will be harvested from this area under cultivation.

The director of Helmand agricultural jihad further said: 50 tons of onions are harvested per hectare.

He pointed out: In addition to domestic markets, the onions of this city also meets the needs of other provinces.

Rostami stated: Helmand city is one of the potential agricultural areas of Sistan and Baluchestan.

He said: Considering that Sistan and Baluchestan has agricultural products in four seasons of the year, it was decided to control runoff and use their capacity to discuss agriculture so that we do not face the problem of water restrictions for the development of this sector.

The director of Helmand Agricultural Jihad said: if the water conditions in the province improve, Sistan and Baluchestan will become a huge agricultural hub in the east of the country.
