Harvesting paper-skinned almonds from Khorramabad gardens
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Khorramabad city said: the harvesting of paper-skinned almonds has started from the gardens of the city and subsequently with a 15-day delay, the harvesting of hard-skinned almonds will continue.
Biranvand told reporters: Almond is a water-less tree that can economically change the livelihood and income of farmers and has a good ability to plant on sloping land and cultivate in the dry season.
He added: In the field of agricultural jihad in Khorramabad, there are 220 hectares of almond orchards, of which 110 hectares are fertile and the rest will be fertile for the next two years at most.
The director of Khorramabad Agricultural Jihad stated: In Khorramabad, almonds are harvested in two stages: choghaleh and almonds are harvested in early spring and late summer. The production of almond chunks in Khorramabad in the spring is more than 50 tons, which is offered in the urban consumer market. It is expected that about 60 tons of nuts and dried almonds will be harvested this year and offered to the consumer market.
He said: Almond cultivars promoted by Jihad-e-Keshavarzi are high-yielding and high-quality cultivars that have been considered by water gardeners due to their low water consumption and are expected to be more than 300 with the plans made in this year’s tree planting season.
