Hazelnut orchards develop in North Khorasan

The director of forestry of the North Khorasan Natural Resources and Watershed Management Organization announced the development of hazelnut orchards in the province.

Hassan Vahid, pointing out that this province has the only hazelnut habitat in the east of the country, said: This habitat is completely enclosed and we are looking to develop this habitat in the province due to forestry operations.

He added: On the other hand, with the negotiations that have been done with the Jihad Agricultural Organization of the province, he added: it was decided that this organization will also implement the plan to develop hazelnut orchards.

Vahid stated that there are 11,000 hectares of plant genetic reserves in the province, adding that these reserves include hawthorn, hazelnut, juniper and pistachio.

He mentioned that the hawthorn reserve located in Jozak region of Bojnourd city is also one of the unique reserves in the country, he said: Seeding has been done in the hawthorn genetic reserve and will be planted this year, which is the size of this reserve. Unique will be added.

The official clarified: The General Directorate has planted this species along with other species such as Afra Kerko and Daghdaghan during the development of Aras reserve in 45 hectares this year.

He pointed out that pistachio is another plant storage in the province, continued: During this year, this plant has been planted in 175 hectares in the form of 30,000.

The director of forestry of the North Khorasan Natural Resources and Watershed Management Organization stated the place of cultivation of this plant in Bezdaghi area of ??Maneh and Samolghan cities.
