Hormozgan ranks fourth in the country’s date production
Nasser Heidaripouri stated in a specialized meeting of dates with the presence of Indian traders in Bandar Abbas: At present, the dates of the province are exported to India through intermediary countries, including the United Arab Emirates.
He stressed: with proper planning and increasing trade relations between Hormozgan and India and by sending trade delegations, the needs of the parties should be identified and the platform for introducing direct exports of dates to India should be provided.
The head of the Hormozgan Agricultural Jihad Organization stated: Most of the province’s dates are exported to the UAE, India, Canada and Australia.
He added: Pyaram, Shahani, Mazafati and Khasavi are the most important cultivars of Hormozgan for export.
Heidaripoor said: we should make the most of the export capacity of agricultural products in order to make this sector economical.
5% of the Indian population uses Pyaram dates due to their good financial situation, 10% of them are in average condition and 85% of the working population, and our program is based on 85% of this population, said one Indian businessman. It can be because it can be a good market for products.
Yasin Ismail Balwa added: Mazafati dates are known among the people of India and are offered at the lowest prices, while these dates are imported to India through the Emirate.
He pointed out: Recently, based on the conclusion of a contract with Kerman province, 250 40-foot containers of Mazafati dates have been imported to India.
Indian people have little knowledge of Hormozgan dates and this requires the introduction of this product to the people of this country, he said.
It should be mentioned that in this meeting, it was decided that the date product required by India, including the types of dates and its products, the type of packaging will be announced by Indian traders so that production and packaging can be done based on it.
