How to use Khatam in wood mosaic
First, we glue a piece of paper on the inlay, and then we put a triangular piece under it, and we fasten the two sides of the inlay with a shadow nail to a solid triangle. We then place the wood with wood glue on the inlay (on paper glue) and then cut it with a metal saw. The drain is to protect the inlay so that it does not break when pouring black material and does not crack or scratch when peeling. If the inlay is narrow, put a few of them together and glue them together, then place them on a board and fasten them together with a nail so that it sticks under good pressure.
In Khatam mosaic, it should be noted that Khatam should never be used without drainage. Zeh is a thin and narrow border and strip that is placed around the inlay and causes the inlay to be separated from the wood and the adjacent background and to have a special effect. Zeh Khatam is usually cut from boxwood because it is hard to cut and can be cut very thinly. Today, zinc is made from materials made of polyester that are not as valuable as wood. One of the best ways to cut the gutters is to stick the design directly on the wood or material used for the gutters, and after cutting the gutters, place the pieces that are obtained between them and remove the inlay from it.
After cutting the inlay, separate them from the mold and place them on the work surface and glue them temporarily so that the pieces do not fall apart. Sometimes, when there are a lot of pieces in one work, the related pieces can be glued together separately by a colored series, and then each set can be placed under the work along with the other sets to complete the design. The next step is sabotage, which is much slower than normal sabotage because the seal is very sensitive and the seeds are removed with a little carelessness.
