Identification of 500 handicraft artists in Zirkuh

The head of Zirkuh Cultural Heritage announced the identification of 500 handicraft artists in the city.
Soroush, the head of Zirkuh’s cultural heritage, said on the sidelines of his visit to the third national exhibition of handicrafts in South Khorasan:
No house can be found in Zirkuh where there is no carpet or rug.
He added:
Currently, 500 artists active in the field of handicrafts have been identified in Zirkuh, who are active in fields such as gem-cutting, towel-weaving, kilim and carpet and basket weaving.
Soroush said:
in the field of kilim weaving, Zir Kuh city is known for its famous pine or cypress design.
The head of Zirkuh’s cultural heritage added: “His artists from Zirkuh will participate in the third national exhibition of handicrafts in South Khorasan with two booths and will expose their unique handicrafts to the visitors.
He pointed out that in the field of handicraft training, the focus has been more on the discussion of towel weaving, he said: Since the beginning of the year, 10 courses have been held in the field of towel weaving training and five million tomans have been spent for each course.

Due to the existence of Shajar stone mine in Zirkuh, the art of gem cutting is also flourishing in this region and about 100 people are doing processing and cutting stone.
