Implementation of smart plan to monitor rice fields
The smart plan for monitoring rice fields was implemented by one of the technology units located in the Technology Development Center of Noshirvani University of Technology in Babol.
The increasing growth and development of technology and its role in smartening in all aspects of human life has led to smart agriculture as a suitable solution to increase yields and reduce the harmful effects of agriculture on the environment.
Due to the traditional nature of agriculture in our country, this issue has not been seriously considered yet, and as a result of not using modern agriculture, every year we see the loss of valuable resources and serious damage to the environment. While in the leading countries in precision agriculture, several projects are being used to use the facilities of new technologies in agriculture.
Traditional methods of collecting information about the stages of planting, holding and harvesting agricultural products based on land and local monitoring of farms are very time consuming and slow and it is not possible to access the required information in the required time.
In this project, the technical knowledge of agricultural intelligence has been localized and using new technologies such as smart phones, Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, accurate monitoring of crops has been possible in a short time and monitoring of various agricultural products is done according to customer needs. Be.
Field monitoring is analyzed in three levels of spatial, aerial and ground monitoring using remote sensing data, UAV images and ground images of mobile phones along with spatial information. Artificial intelligence and in-depth learning are used to determine the best time to plant, hold, harvest and decide on a crop. The software developed for smartphones easily provides communication between the farmer and the expert team and provides the specific information of each farm separately to the farmer.
According to the public relations of the Ministry of Science, due to the importance of rice cultivation in Golestan, Mazandaran and Gilan provinces as an agricultural hub and the largest rice production area (producing two-thirds of the country’s rice needs), has been selected as the target product of this project and other Agricultural products are also available as needed.
