Increase of grapes in some parts of Fars
The director of Jihad Keshavarzi of Sepidan city said: it is predicted that 40,000 tons of products will be harvested this year, which shows a 10% growth compared to last year.
Rahemi enumerated the area under cultivation of vineyards in this city as 6,070 hectares and continued: of this amount, 1600 hectares are irrigated and the rest are rainfed.
According to him, the average harvest of blue grapes in Sepidan is 15 and rainfed is 3 tons per hectare.
Referring to the fact that 39,000 tons of grapes were produced in this city last year, Rahemi predicted that a total of 40,000 tons of grapes would be produced in Sepidan this year.
The main varieties of grapes produced in Sepidan include Askari, Rish Baba, Rutabi and Samarghandi.
Grape harvest in Sepidan begins in mid-August and continues until the end of October
