Increasing the area under saffron cultivation in Khaf

The director of Khaf Agricultural Jihad said: the area under saffron cultivation in Khaf has increased from 4,200 hectares last year to 4,600 hectares.
Rahman Dadpour, director of Khaf Agricultural Jihad, said: Last year, 14 tons of saffron were harvested in Khaf, which due to the increase in the area under cultivation, this amount will increase to about 16 tons this year.
He announced the average harvest of saffron in Khaf this year as three and a half tons per hectare and added: in the harvest period of this year, ie mid-November to the end of December, the yield of this crop will increase by half a kilogram per hectare.
Khaf has 20,000 hectares of irrigated fields, 360,000 head of livestock and 14,000 farmers, and annually produces 160,000 tons of crops, horticulture and livestock.
