He pointed out: In the biological control of the rice stem borer pest, Turkiograma bees are used, and this year, with the efforts of the private sector, great steps have been taken in the production of Trichogramma cards.

Biological control is done for both high-yielding cultivars and local cultivars in paddy fields, he said.
Durjani continued: Gilan has 238 thousand hectares of cultivated area, of which 25 thousand hectares are high-yielding cultivars and 213 thousand hectares are local cultivars.
