Jahanbakhsh Alipour said: Masal has 7,000 hectares of paddy lands, so far winter plowing has been done in 35% of the paddy fields of this city.

He added: Winter plowing, in addition to increasing soil fertility, leads to management in agricultural water consumption for rice production and, in general, leads to a reduction in the cost of production of this product.

The director of Masal Agricultural Jihad continued: Increasing farmers’ incomes is one of the priorities of this office and last year we were able to achieve the goal of increasing the income of paddy farmers with various measures such as increasing ratoon breeding and other second crop crops after rice harvest and this year We plan to take more effective steps to achieve these goals.

He went on to point out that Masal city is one of the cities producing quality rice and most of the rice that is cultivated in this city is of Hashemi type, noting that Hashemi rice is a high grain variety and suffers from heavy rain. , We plan to use more new rice cultivars in the paddy fields of this city this year.

Alipour said: The new rice cultivars, while being dwarfed and highly resistant to diseases, are also high-yielding and have an increase in good yield levels.

He added: Fortunately, the farmers of Masal city welcome the cultivation of new rice cultivars and the use of these cultivars will increase farmers’ incomes.

The director of Masal Agricultural Jihad, stating that last year’s rain caused damage to rice crops in some paddy fields, said: Because of the high wages of workers, it was not economically viable for farmers to harvest rice stalks that were damaged, but there was a solution. They did not and it was not possible to use harvesters and combine harvesters.

He added: This year, we plan to increase mechanized rice production in this city and it is predicted that rice will be mechanized cultivated in more than 80% of the paddy fields of this city.
