Iranian handicrafts are not innovative
There is no research, study and innovation in handicraft products, and the demands of the new generation have not been taken into account, said the head of the union of sellers of old objects and handicrafts, noting that golden opportunities have been lost in export markets.
Regarding export markets and handicraft production, Seyed Mohammad Abdullahi said: Rising prices of raw materials, increasing wages and current production costs have greatly increased the cost of handicrafts.
The president of the union of sellers of old objects and handicrafts believes that in order to solve many of the problems facing the production and export of handicrafts, the relevant agencies and organizations must take the necessary measures.
He continued: Special attention should be paid to recognizing the needs and tastes of target markets so that traditional products are significantly in line with the tastes of international customers.
Emphasizing that the producer is not able to pay attention to market research due to production problems, Abdullahi said: Although handicrafts are derived from the tradition and past of a country and a nation, artistic innovations in the design of these products should be made.To be considered.
The head of the union of sellers of antiques and handicrafts pointed out: in the production of handicrafts, quality and quantity improvement should be considered, and in the direction of this, the use of quality raw materials is important, so the university should improve the quality of materials. He stated that one of the reasons for the short life of handicraft exports in the target markets is the lack of market research and said: in order to sustain exports in customs tariffs, provide appropriate services to traders and interaction with traders in other countries should be reviewed.
Believing that the golden opportunities have been lost, Abdullahi said: In the current activities, the new generation has not been taken into consideration and the targeted propaganda and introduction have not been properly planned and implemented.
