He mentioned the amount of pistachio exports in the country last year as 140,000 tons and said: The highest amount of exports was to the European Union, which decreased due to the existing difficulties and problems, while exports to Arab countries, China, Indonesia and Thailand.
Shamsfard predicted the amount of pistachio crop this year to be 150,000 tons and added: This amount is much lower than the figure of 200,000 tons last year.
The head of the Iranian Dried Exporters Union said about the establishment of pistachio cooperatives in the country: Unfortunately, the establishment of pistachio cooperatives in Tehran or anywhere else is not done effectively because everyone who enters this sector wants to sell pistachios first.
Currently, Rafsanjan Pistachio Export Cooperative is the only pistachio cooperative in Iran. Regarding the carcinogenicity of Iranian pistachios, Shamsfard said: The problem of carcinogenicity of Iranian pistachios is not true, but the existence of some contaminants in pistachios in the form of fungi, which are also present everywhere in the world, can not be denied!
If the weather conditions allow the fungus to grow in pistachios, it produces aflatoxin toxin and leads to contamination of other pistachios. In addition, every year one billion pistachios are consumed continuously. Two people can get liver cancer! He added: Currently, the only hypothesis that pistachios are contaminated is that pistachios are contaminated on the tree.
When pistachios are smiling on the tree, they can be infected. The hypothesis lasts at least 5 years!
In order to prevent pistachios from being contaminated, Shamsafar said: If pistachios are picked before they are smiling, it will not be possible to contaminate them. Prove that pistachios are grown on trees. We pick pistachios before they smile. The head of the Iranian Dried Exporters Union pointed to the existence of many competitors in the pistachio export sector and said: Currently, the United States is the most important and only competitor of Iran’s pistachios and has created many problems.
For example, European countries check American pistachios randomly (randomly) and Iranian pistachios grain by grain and discriminate against them! Also, one out of every 10 shipments of US exported pistachios is checked, while each shipment of Iranian pistachios is checked at least 3 times, and if the slightest contamination is observed during the 3 stages, all shipments will be returned. Emphasizing that most countries now tend to undertake the task of packing pistachios, he said: European countries buy pistachios for export together and start packing and even roasting pistachios themselves. As a result, they get a lot of added value.
Shamsfar said that the most important problem of the union of dried fruit exporters is the current inflation rate and said: Currently, the exchange rate has been on a fixed basis for 3 years, which, considering at least 15% of annual inflation, will face 45% inflation in 3 years. we will be.
At the same time, we can not impose domestic inflation on foreign countries because then no purchases will be made from the country. Despite tough competitors like Turkey and the United States, how can we deal with this level of inflation? He asked.
In addition, the 2% subsidy given to exporters as an export bonus is paid as a commission fee to exporters as an export bonus, so the government should come to the aid of exporters and provide a subsidy for them.
