Iranian rice became recognizable
The Director General of Food and Beverage Products of the Food and Drug Administration announced the identification of domestically produced rice.
Dr. Mohammad Hossein Azizi informed about the identification of imported and domestically produced rice by the Food and Drug Administration and said: Currently, all domestically produced rice has received a workshop ID and even the 10 kg rice bags that are in stores have a logo on them. The Food and Drug Administration and the workshop ID code are listed and people can observe it.
He added that imported rice has already received the label of authenticity, adding: When a product has an authenticity code, it means that it has been imported from legal bases, the necessary analyzes have been performed on it, it is legal and there is no problem. People can also verify the authenticity of the product by texting the authenticity code to the number on the label.
Azizi stated that currently domestic rice has a workshop code and foreign rice also has an authenticity label, said: Accordingly, the Food and Drug Administration monitors and the possibility of rice fraud has been minimized; Because all product specifications, manufacturer and workshop code are written on rice bags and the possibility of fraud is minimized. At the same time, if we encounter a case in our monitoring that is non-compliant and non-standard, we immediately revoke the manufacturer’s ID and fine him. Foreign rice, including Indian, Thai, etc., also have a label of authenticity and are observed through it.
Of course, there is smuggling in this area, he said. Sometimes we have reports of rice smuggling or changes in the date of consumption of goods such as rice, and if we see and receive these reports, we will deal with the wrong people.
