Iran’s share in sturgeon harvest reached 6.58 percent

Saeedi said: The most important task of governments in fisheries management is to identify the optimum point and exploitation management, otherwise the increase in exploitation efforts means putting people to work, but now due to non-compliance with management in productivity, Sturgeon has decreased in the Caspian Sea.
He continued: Therefore, the Sites Convention, which is responsible for controlling trade and protecting endangered species and plants, determined the fishing and export quota for the countries exploiting the Caspian sturgeon.
Referring to the increase in sturgeon release in increasing the sustainability of exploitation of Caspian reserves by the Iranian government, the CEO of Iran Fisheries stated: Based on the measures taken by Iran, we have been able to increase the share of sturgeon exploitation in the last 15 years by 10%. Change the total reserves and increase the country’s share in 2004 to 6.58% of the total share of Caspian caviar fishing and exports.
He considered Iran as the leader of the world caviar market and said: The amount of caviar exports in the country last year was $ 33 million, but for this year we will not have an increase in caviar exports.
Saeedi called the export price of caviar more than one thousand euros and added: About 20 million pieces of sturgeon are released in the Caspian Sea annually, but the release rate of Russian sturgeon is higher than other countries along the Caspian Sea.
