Jahrom figs are exported to other cities

Jalal Behjoo, pointing out that Jahrom fig figs have a good quality, said: Considering that figs in Jahrom city are export products, action should be taken to improve and develop dryland fig orchards in this city.
He informed about the harvest of black garden figs from 50 hectares of orchards in Khafr section of Jahrom and said: the harvest of this crop started in late July and will last for a month.
The head of Jahrom Agricultural Jihad Office pointed out: from this amount of cultivated area, more than 100 tons of garden figs are produced and exported to the center of Fars province for fresh consumption.
He considered the area under cultivation of rainfed fig orchards in Simkan section as 450 hectares and added: with the construction of a road between rainfed fig orchards in Simkan section of Jahrom city, which is 12 km long and with a credit of 3 billion Rials from national credits, has started. 480 rural households benefit.
Referring to the lack of conversion industries in Jahrom, the official clarified: 3,500 tons of figs produced in Jahrom city are exported to other cities due to the lack of conversion industries, and we hope in the near future we can take positive steps to create related conversion industries.
