Khorramdareh with 500 hectares of walnut orchards
The head of the agricultural jihad of Khorramdareh city said: this city has 500 hectares of walnut orchards.
Alireza Asadollahi, pointing out that walnut is one of the most important products of Khorramdareh farmers, said: Khorramdareh walnut is one of the highest quality walnuts in the province.
He stated that Khorramdareh agro-industrial complex is one of the largest agro-industrial complexes in the country, which plants a variety of crops, and specified: This complex has changed its walnut cultivar since last year, and this year in this regard. It also combines about 400 walnuts with Chandler, Franket, Rond, Pedro, Hartley and Lara cultivars.
The official pointed out that the city of Khorram Dareh has about 500 hectares of walnut orchards, said: The cultivars in the orchards of the city are mostly local and sensitive to cold, and therefore every year gardeners in the region due to late spring cold a lot of damage Are tolerated.
Asadollahi stated: In order to increase the awareness of farmers who cultivate walnuts, a workshop on branching or changing the cultivar of walnut crown was held in the presence of over 60 gardeners and officials and experts of the province in the cultivation and industry of Khorramdareh plain.
The head of Khorramdareh Agricultural Jihad reminded: In this workshop, gardeners were introduced to the correct method of branching or crown transplantation of walnuts, time and method of preparing scion, the benefits of this transplant and various late-flowering and frost-resistant cultivars in walnuts.
Asadollahi stated that the branching of walnut trees is the best option to improve their quality and performance, especially in young orchards, and specified: is up.
Emphasizing that the development of new methods of transplanting walnut trees is one of the most important goals of this workshop, he noted: with the working branch, the aerial part of the tree has been replaced and will contribute to a quality product in the coming years.
