Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade Development of Khuzestan Industry and Trade Organization, stating that the province’s export dates have improved in terms of quantity and quality this year compared to last year, said: Our forecast is to export 70,000 tons of dates from Khuzestan to foreign countries.

Younes Hosseinnejadian stated: More than 80% of the province’s export dates belong to the Colonial cultivar, but other cultivars are also exported that are less than the colonial.

He added: Export prices of dates are global and colonial dates are offered at a price of $ 1,200 per ton and Zahedi dates are offered at a price of $ 900 to $ 1,000 per ton.

Hosseinnejadian stated: According to the conditions and specifications of Khuzestan dates, most European countries are customers of this product; Khuzestan dates are currently exported to Britain, Australia, Germany, Canada and the UAE.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade Development of Khuzestan Industry and Trade Organization considered the lack of export infrastructure in the province as one of the most important problems in the date export sector and noted: At present, due to these problems, the province exports dates through Khuzestan to Bandar Abbas and from Bandar Abbas to target markets.

He said that there are 15 active exporters in the field of dates in the province, he said: last year the province was one of the top provinces in terms of date exports, and this year our forecast is to get the first rank in the province in the date export sector.
