A kilim weaving artist said: Harsin kilim is one of the oldest and most original underlays in Iran, which has lost its originality today due to the use of yarn and chemical dyes in its texture.
Leila Ahmadi in Kermanshah, stated: Glim has a very long history as one of the human substrates. According to the available evidence, the first hand-woven kilims had a very simple texture and consisted of warp and weft threads that passed one after the other on top of each other.
He said about the antiquity of kilim: It is not possible to comment explicitly on this, because due to the vulnerability of plant and animal fibers to atmospheric factors, there are not many samples of ancient products; But what is certain is that man first made mats out of reeds and then used animal wool to make mats.
Therefore, kilim weaving has no history other than textile. Ahmadi considered the use of kilims to be in the form of a bed, a rug, a rug, a pouch, a sack, a horse, a backpack, a tablecloth, and so on.
He introduced the stages of kilim weaving to determine the size of the work, the weaver and the weft and explained: First, the weft yarns are weaved with the help of two fixed yarns, one in the middle, one yarn from the bottom and one yarn from the front according to the blackening.
This Kermanshahi artist continued: in the texture of the kilim, according to the type of map, the necessary divisions are made and the texture of the background is done according to the map.
After finishing the weaving of the background, the above margins are repeated, and after finishing the margins, the tapestry or chain weaving is done, and finally, the canvas weaving is woven behind it. He introduced Hersin kilim as one of the oldest and most original kilims and considered its original designs to be his own, but regretted that today, due to the use of yarn and chemically durable dyes in its texture, kilim has lost its originality.
